TIPS TO LEARN SPANISH

Our main goal when we are learning new language is to understand and to be understood. Here you have different tips that everyone should follow if you want to improve. We would like to point out that in every process is very important to difference between the tools and the process you are using. 
 
Nos gustaría puntualizar que, en cada proceso de aprendizaje es muy importante la diferencia entre las herramientas y el proceso que se está utilizando. Nuestro objetivo cuando estamos aprendiendo una nueva lengua es entender y ser entendido.  Aquí tenéis una entrada en la que tenéis diferentes formas para mejorar vuestro español.
 

1. The music.

1. La música.

Who does not like the music? Many people learn listening music. For long time, I have heard how people learn grammar and vocabulary just reading the song lyric and paying attention to the new vocabulary. 
 
The more you repeat memorized, the more progress you will make on pronunciation, vitally important part of learning any language well. In this case, we are talking about the Spanish. It is important listening music, podcast and audiobooks. One of the most famous page if you do not have time to read is “Audible”. A book that you can hear! It will help you to improve your comprehension and listening skill. What are you waiting for? We absolutely love it and we recommend to all our students. It’s a good time to start! You should give it a go!
 
¿A quién no le gusta la música? Mucha gente aprende nuevas lenguas escuchando música. Durante mucho tiempo, he visto cómo la gente aprende gramática y vocabulario simplemente leyendo la letra de la canción y escribiendo todo el nuevo vocabulario en un cuaderno.
 
En todo proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje, es muy importante memorizar y repetir. Así mejorarás la pronunciación, una parte muy importante en el aprendizaje de cualquier idioma, aunque en este caso, estamos hablando del español. Es importante escuchar música, podcasts y audiolibros. Una de las páginas más famosas si no tienes tiempo para leer es “Audible”. Un libro que puedes escuchar. ¡Te ayudará a mejorar tu comprensión y tu habilidad para escuchar!. ¿A qué estás esperando? Nos encanta y lo recomendamos a todos nuestros estudiantes. ¡Es un buen momento para comenzar! ¡Inténtalo!
 

2. Read, read and read as much as you can.

2. Lee, lee y lee todo lo que puedas.

Following the audiobooks, we recommend 100% read something you really like. Otherwise, you will be boring and you will give up. Always is a good opportunity read a book that you already know in your mother tongue or you already read it for example about your favourite movie. Wait a minute! How do I know if the book I am reading is for my level? Easy!
 
You should read the first page of the book. If you need to find more than 5 or 6 words in the dictionary, it will mean that the book is not your level and you should find a new one.
 
Here you have different Spanish books depending your level:
 
Siguiendo con los audiolibros, recomendamos al cien por cien leer un libro o artículo que realmente te guste. De lo contrario, te aburrirás  y dejarás de leer. Nuestra recomendación es leer un libro que ya conoces en tu lengua materna o que ya leíste, por ejemplo, sobre tu película favorita. ¡Espera un minuto! ¿Cómo sé si el libro que estoy leyendo es para mi nivel? ¡Es muy fácil!
 
Lee la primera página del libro, y si necesitas buscar más de 5 ó 6 palabras en el diccionario, significa que el libro no es para tu nivel.
 
Aquí tienes diferentes libros por niveles:
 
 Nivel A1-A2:
  • “Fran Percio y su borrico”.
  • “Antologia”.
  • “Manolito Gafotas”.
  • “Valentín: Familia no hay más que una”.
 
Nivel B1-B2:
  • “Las cosas que nos dijimos”.
  • “Como agua para chocolate”.
  • “Valentín, ¡el club de las ideas!”

3. Watch movies, TV-shows and the news in Spanish.

Best way to immerse yourself in a new language. Nowadays you can find different apps such as Nettflix, Stan, Fox, where you can find tv shows or movies in original version in just one click.

4.Write your own diary every day.

4. Escribe tu propio diario cada día.

Why should you write your own diary?
 
We believe that when you write and if you do not know something, you have time to correct yourself and find the correct word and sentence.  As we have mentioned before, the more you repeat and memorized, the more progress you will make everyday. Also, It’s a good idea once you have written your diary, write in a white-board all vocabulary or sentences you did not know before. It will be helpful in the future.
 
 

¿Por qué deberías escribir tu propio diario?

En Spanish Blackboard Academy pensamos que escribir es una opción segura de aprender nuevas estructuras gramaticales y vocabulario. Como hemos mencionado antes, cuanto más repitas y memorices, más progresarás cada día, ya que estamos seguros que lo pondrás en práctica con tus amigos, en clase, en el restaurante, etc. Además, una vez hayas escrito tu diario, te recomendamos que escribas en un tablero en blanco todo el vocabulario o expresiones que no conocías antes.

Nowadays, everybody use the social media ( whatsapp, youtube, Instagram, Spaptchat, Facebook, etc). We think that the social media is a good tool to improve a second language. Why Should you watch a “youtuber” speaking in the  second language that you are learning? Why should we follow Spanish Speaking people in our social media? Why should we find Spanish groups in Facebook or Whatsapp to exchange information and why not, to chat for a bit? From Spanish Blackboard Academy  we believe that the best way to improve  is to change all your social media to your second language. You will find an interesting people who chat, and also you will learn basic vocabulary which will help you in other situations.

Hoy en día, todo el mundo usa las redes sociales (Whatsapp, Youtube, Instagram, Spaptchat, Facebook, etc.). Creemos que las redes sociales son una buena herramienta para mejorar un segundo idioma. ¿Por qué debería ver a un “youtuber” hablando en español? ¿Por qué deberíamos seguir a las personas de habla hispana en nuestras redes sociales? ¿Por qué deberíamos encontrar grupos de españoles en Facebook o Whatsapp para intercambiar información y por qué no, para chatear un poco? Desde Spanish Blackboard Academy creemos que la mejor manera de mejorar es cambiar todas tus redes sociales al segundo idioma, en este caso, al español. Encontrarás personas interesantes con quién conversarás, y también aprenderás vocabulario básico que te ayudará en otras situaciones.

The best to learn a language is to learn with native people. Do you know what “meet up” means?
 
Nowadays, around the world you can find different group of people to exchange two languages. In these exchanges, people usually talk one hour in Spanish and next hour in English. We believe that is a great opportunity to meet new people, and learn the language from the base.  For example, in Sydney people catch up in a bar after work and they talk about hobbies, favourite food, etc.  You will help people and you will be helped to improve.  In these situations, you will learn new vocabulary, sentences and why not, you will meet your next friend.
 
 
Also, we would like to let you know that you will find different language groups in Facebook. Do not be shy! Give it a try!
 
 

Aprende español con personas nativas. ¿Sabes lo que significa “meet up”?

Hoy en día, en todo el mundo puedes encontrar diferentes grupos de personas para intercambiar idiomas. En estos intercambios, las personas generalmente hablan una hora en español y la siguiente hora en inglés o viceversa. Creemos que es una gran oportunidad para conocer gente nueva y aprender el idioma desde cero. Por ejemplo, en Sídney, la gente se hay dos veces la palabra se reúne en un bar después del trabajo y hablan de hobbies, comida, familia, etc. Ayudarás a muchas personas y ellas también te ayudarán a mejorar. En estas situaciones, aprenderás nuevo vocabulario, oraciones y por qué no, conocerás a tu próximo amigo.
